Give India - Lead Consultant - Strategy & Program Design (10-15 yrs)

Hybrid of WFH (work from home), work from client offices, and frequent travel.

About the role:

- We are a trusted advisor for our clients (companies / corporate foundations / philanthropic foundations) in their giving journey.

- Our service offerings include strategy formulation, design, partner identification, KPI planning, on-ground monitoring and evaluation, and overall impact portfolio management.

- We also support clients in effectively using our CSR management tech platform.

- Our goal through each of these services is to help our clients maximize the social impact created by their CSR and philanthropic initiatives.

- You will engage with CSR and philanthropic leaders, corporate boards and grant committees to formulate their impact vision, translate that vision into a strategy that is aligned to their brand and operations, and to design programs that can translate that vision into reality.

- You will engage with sector experts and technical advisors as and when needed, but you will own the overall engagement and its outcome.

- Strong consulting skills (data analysis, research, articulation), comfort with multiple thematic domains (education / health / livelihoods etc), prior experience with program design and /or strategy formulation with extensive community engagement, and top tier academic credentials are a must have for this role.

- This is an individual contributor role, who may sometimes lead a 1-3 people team for specific engagements.

Key responsibilities:

Visioning:

- Help corporate leaders and philanthropists articulate their impact vision, through workshops, 1:1 interviews and community engagement.

- Ensure alignment with business strategy, brand and operational needs.

- Support the process through extensive secondary and primary research, data analysis, and application of proven frameworks.

Strategy formulation:

- Translate the vision into an actionable strategy at a grant portfolio level, or at a program level.

- Lead the strategy socialization process across all stakeholder groups.

- Ensure that the strategy is relevant for the target communities, with extensive community engagement during the formulation process.

- Utilize available data and expertise within the development sector, leverage your network of experienced professionals and academicians.

Program design:

- Evaluate and design existing and new programs.

- Ensure alignment with the overall impact strategy.

- Define KPIs, milestones and critical success factors to help the program team execute well.

- Be a part of program monitoring sessions periodically.

- Help position Give Grants as a CSR thought leader.

- Drive continuous learning within the team, to build their depth of knowledge.

- Actively create / enable thought leadership content and market presence via events, speaker opportunities, research reports, webinars and more.

Relevant experience:

- Minimum 10 years overall, with 5+ years of relevant experience in strategy formulation and program design.

- Past experience in impact consulting, CSR or institutional philanthropy would be a strong positive.

- Experience of working in nonprofits, govt agencies and social enterprises is equally relevant, especially if it involved strategy and design.

- This is a specialized role and is not open for professionals transitioning into the development sector, or for grant management / project management professionals.

- We are looking for specific strategy and design experience.

Depth of knowledge:

- Depth of expertise within your chosen domain - healthcare, education, climate action etc.

- Exposure to multiple thematic areas and past experience in working with technical experts across thematic areas will be a strong positive.

- A positive attitude that is comfortable with ambiguity and risk.

- Past experience with small teams, startups, fast paced environments.

- Willingness to take risks and experiment with new products and strategies.

- High standards of ethics and governance, backed with practical knowledge and experience.

Supporting skills:

- Strong research and data analysis skills (including statistical analysis).

- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and Word.

- Data visualization and reporting.

- Advanced communication skills, verbal and written.
