Network Engineer

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Cisco switch configuration (e.g., IOS commands, Layer 2/3 concepts).
  
• Expertise in FortiGate firewall management (FortiOS).
  
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols.
  
• Knowledge of security frameworks and practices.
  
• Experience with VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN).
  
• Certification (preferred but not mandatory):
  
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Professional (CCNP).
  
• Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE 4 or higher).

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Network Design and Implementation:
  
• Design and implement a scalable network infrastructure using Cisco switches.
  
• Configure VLANs, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing for segmentation and efficient traffic flow.
  
• Firewall Management:
  
• Configure and maintain FortiGate firewalls for perimeter security.
  
• Set up policies for access control, NAT, VPNs, and traffic inspection.
  
• Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  
• Use tools to monitor network performance and ensure uptime.
  
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to switches, firewalls, or connectivity.
  
• Security Administration:
  
• Implement security measures such as IPS/IDS, SSL/TLS encryption, and URL filtering on FortiGate.
  
• Monitor logs and reports for anomalies and potential threats.
  
• Scalability and Redundancy:
  
• Configure redundancy protocols like HSRP/VRRP for high availability.
  
• Plan for future growth and ensure network scalability.
  
• User and Device Management:
  
• Manage device and user access policies.
  
• Configure port security and 802.1x for secure device authentication.
  
• Documentation and Reporting:
  
• Maintain documentation for network diagrams, device configurations, and policies.
  
• Generate and review firewalls and switch logs to ensure compliance.
  
• Collaboration with Teams:
  
• Work with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services.
  
• Coordinate with security teams for incident response and audits.
