Senior Analytics & Reporting Specialist

Role & responsibilities

• Serve as a technical project lead developing analytical solutions or BI reporting
• Mentor junior developers or new hires on best development practices
• When required, serve as a primary contact for business stakeholders on assigned projects, representing the Data Analytics function
• Generate standard or custom analytical reporting solutions summarizing clinical or operational data for review by executives, managers, external sponsors, and other stakeholders.
• Identify appropriate data sources, utilize business intelligence tools, and provide appropriate reporting solutions to meet stakeholder needs.
• Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders regarding the timing of data delivery, particularly communicating any anticipated delays.
• Monitor and maintain reporting system functionality and scheduled processes and proactively identify improvements needed for process stability
• Perform functional testing to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data in the form of reporting and analytics deliverables.
• Perform ad-hoc reporting to meet client or internal stakeholder requests.
• Collaborate with and give guidance to stakeholders to identify the business requirements and data needs with a focus on understanding how the data will be utilized.
• Work with Quality staff to identify compliance and validation needs, and ensure relevant systems are validated and remain in compliance with GCP/ICH, other pertinent regulations, and internal SOPs.
• As necessary, oversee and manage the development of validation test scripts and testing. Work with Quality staff to ensure validation documentation is well organized and kept up to date.
• Create process documentation and training materials to support the understanding and usability of developed solutions.
• Input into the development of appropriate training (e.g., instructor lead, self-study, etc.) to support analytics and reporting solutions.

Education: B.S. or M.S. Computer Science, Engineering, or Business-related field, or relevant experience

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in a technical role developing analytical reporting solutions

Required Skills:

• Proficient in the use of BI / Analytical tools and technologies (Power BI, DAX)
• Solid understanding of data warehousing and modeling concepts and best practices
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with programming languages used for data transformation (SAS, R, Python)
• Familiarity with clinical trial data and clinical data standards (CDISC, SDTM)
• Experience working with project management tools (Jira, MS Project)
• Experience with automating business processes and automation tools (Power Automate, etc.)
• Experience leading or working independently on projects to develop analytical solutions
