Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant- Senior Data Developer - Tableau
In this role, As a Senior Data Developer specializing in Tableau, your primary responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain data visualization solutions using Tableau software.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand data visualization requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Gather, clean, and prepare data from various sources for visualization using Tableau. Perform data modeling, aggregation, and transformation to create structured datasets suitable for visualization.
Design, develop, and test interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau Desktop. Create intuitive and insightful visualizations that facilitate data exploration and analysis.
Optimize Tableau dashboards and visualizations for performance and scalability. Implement efficient data connections, filters, and calculations to improve dashboard responsiveness.
Integrate Tableau visualizations with other systems, databases, and applications. Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between Tableau and heterogeneous environments.
Implement security measures in Tableau solutions to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS. Configure authentication, authorization, and encryption features as needed.
Set up monitoring tools and processes to track the health and performance of Tableau Server and dashboards. Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and data loss.
Create technical documentation, including design documents, deployment guides, and best practices for Tableau solutions. Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members and end-users as needed.
Manage version control for Tableau workbooks and data sources using tools like Git or SVN. Implement deployment pipelines and automation scripts for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) of Tableau solutions.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders. Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders and project managers.
Stay updated with the latest features and best practices in Tableau and data visualization technologies. Identify opportunities for process improvements, tool enhancements, and skill development within the team.
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
Hands-on experience in data visualization, business intelligence, or a related field.
Demonstrated proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
Proficiency in data preparation, data modeling, and data visualization techniques using Tableau.
Experience with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations using Tableau.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Tableau Desktop Certified Associate or Tableau Desktop Certified Professional certification is highly desirable.
Extensive experience with advanced Tableau features and functionalities, such as calculated fields, parameters, sets, and table calculations.
Knowledge of data blending, data hierarchies, and data aggregation techniques in Tableau.
Experience with data preparation tools and techniques for cleaning, transforming, and shaping data for visualization (e.g., Tableau Prep, Alteryx, Power Query).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript for data analysis and visualization enhancements.
Experience with automation tools and techniques for scheduling and refreshing Tableau extracts and dashboards.
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data warehouse concepts.
Experience with data modeling and database design principles.
Experience with statistical tools and programming languages for data analysis (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB).
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards relevant to specific industries (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
