The incumbent will be responsible for the entire product life cycle management - development and management of products as per new product/service requirement and enhancement of existing products and features for the product segment
Roles and responsibilities:
Product Strategy:
- Driving P&L management by developing and executing regional product strategies aligned with overall company goals and market demands.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for product enhancement or new product development.
Collaboration and coordination with sales team:
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand regional market needs and support them in achieving sales targets
Performance Analysis:
- Monitor product performance metrics, including sales volume, market share, and profitability within the region.
- Assessing performance of product portfolio against annual plan and discussing the achievement of targets with Sales. Use data-driven insights toidentify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Work with all Major and minor OEM's globally and define product needs, prepare commercial proposals and manage profitability working with sales leaders.
- Manufacturing capacity planning: Helping define the manufacturing needs for new product families. Training and Support: Provide training and support to sales teams and distributors regarding product specifications, features, and benefits. Ensure adequate product knowledge to drive sales effectiveness.
- Lead a team of Field Service Engineers for customer complaints and resolutions.
- Leading, guiding and managing a team of product managers for the segment.
Key Result Areas (List the key deliverables that quantify successful performance in the role):
- Achieve target business deliverables for the region as well as year on year business growth as decided.
- Keeping track of product's performance, competitive threats and provide necessary interventions / tools to sales teams to manage business.
- Provide Quality inputs for capacity planning for plants and budgeting.
- Identify needs for new products or upgrading current products based on customer needs.
- Support new product launches through appropriate communication material and through training to sales team and users.
- Improve efficiency and responsiveness of business processes within Product Management.
- Develop team members to work independently. Build talent pipeline to handle bigger responsibilities.
- Create a product pipeline for 3 to 5 years for the segment.
- Maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders through updates.
- Resolve customer concerns, queries and complaints and manage internal escalations to support own as well as cross-functional team.
- Relationship management with key customers and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- MBA
- 10+ years' of experience in Product Management/Product Planning or Product Development, preferably in a multi-national company.
- Has experienced complexity of managing a startup end to end i.e. product development, manufacturing operations, business development, etc
