Citrix/ Nutanix Team Manager

# Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Citrix, Desktop, and Nutanix Technical Manager to lead our Citrix Desktop Infrastructure Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for implementing, administering, and maintaining the company's Citrix infrastructure technologies, Windows 10 desktop engineering, and Nutanix HCI
engineering. The role involves driving continual improvement in processes, people, and technology, and leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of the firms Citrix environment for a 24x7 operating model. This candidate requires both technical expertise and the ability to interface with all levels of users and management.

# Responsibilities
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other senior leaders to align infrastructure strategy with overall business goals.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and services.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Budget and forecast for the infrastructure department, including cost control measures.
- Technology Trends: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Installation/Configuration: Perform all aspects of operation, level 2 and level 3 support activities for the company's global Citrix Infrastructure, including Citrix XenApp/ XenDesktop, NetScaler (physical and virtual), Director, Storefront, Delivery Controllers (CDC), Provisioning Services (PVS), VDI, Citrix Cloud Mgmt plane etc.
- Design and Implementation: Focus on design, implementation, maintaining high availability, performance, and security of XenApp/ Xendesktop and NetScaler systems, whether on-premise or in the cloud.
- Windows 10 Desktop Engineering: Design, deploy, and manage Windows 10 desktop environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience.
- Nutanix HCI Engineering: Implement and manage Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure operations.
- IT Systems and Infrastructure: Oversee the design and implementation of new IT systems and infrastructure.
- Service Availability and Performance: Ensure high availability and performance of IT services through proactive monitoring and maintenance.

# Technical Responsibilities
- Deployment and Management: Deploy and manage Citrix XenApp/ XenDesktop, NetScaler, StoreFront, Nutanix, and associated environments.
- Capacity Planning: Responsible for capacity planning, monitoring, performance, and tuning.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance of all changes before they are implemented in the production environment.
- Technical Resource: Act as a technical resource, working with the architecture department to deliver infrastructure projects when required.
- Citrix Components: Design, upgrade, patch, and migrate Citrix components as required.
- Troubleshooting: Windows 10, Citrix, Performance and remote access troubleshooting and management.
- Application Presentation: Application presentation and upgrades as they relate to Citrix environments.
- System Health Monitoring: Continually monitor the health of the systems infrastructure, respond quickly to problems, and proactively troubleshoot irregularities before they become service-impacting issues (including performance tuning).
- Server-Based Solutions: Gather requirements, design, and deploy server-based solutions to meet business needs.
- Proprietary Applications: Work with a variety of proprietary applications for implementation and perform upgrades as required.
- Documentation: Develop internal documentation and procedures related to the systems infrastructure.
- Scripting: Occasional update and management of scripts such as PowerShell.
- Windows 10 Desktop Engineering: Ensure the deployment, configuration, and management of Windows 10 desktop environments, including image creation, software deployment, and patch management.
- Nutanix HCI Engineering: Implement and manage Nutanix HCI solutions, including cluster setup, configuration, and maintenance.

# Position Requirements
- Education: Ideally, a bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a similar field.
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in a support/engineering role within a highpaced IT environment, preferably within a financial institution.
- Citrix Expertise: Expert knowledge of XenDesktop, XenApp, Citrix Cloud and strong NetScaler experience.
- Microsoft Windows: Strong experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems, Performance troubleshooting and Group Policy.
- Global XenApp/XenDesktop Farms: Design, build, implementation, and support experience of global XenApp/XenDesktop farms.
- Performance Tuning: Advanced performance tuning/optimization skills.
- Problem Solving: Ability to own complicated problems to conclusion and to coordinate multiple teams in fault-finding processes.
- Virtualization: Experience with Nutanix and knowledge of other server and desktop virtualization technologies.
- Scripting and Automation: Good knowledge of PowerShell, other scripting languages, and automation workflows.
- Citrix Technologies: 8+ years of experience with Citrix technologies, including 5+ years in an engineering role.
- Enterprise Environment: Experience deploying Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop / NetScaler in an enterprise environment.
- Windows Server: Good grasp of Windows Server operating systems.
- Multi-Factor Authentication: Experience supporting multi-factor authentication technologies (e.g., RSA, Microsoft MFA).
- Windows 10 Desktop Engineering: Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing Windows 10 desktop environments.
- Nutanix HCI Engineering: Experience with Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure solutions.
