Citrix Support Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Citrix Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Citrix virtual environments and related technologies. The Citrix Engineer will ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of Citrix systems to meet business and user needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Citrix Infrastructure Management:
  
• Design, deploy, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop) environments.
• Install, configure, and support Citrix components, including Citrix Delivery Controller, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix NetScaler, Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS), and Citrix Studio.
• Ensure the proper configuration and integration of Citrix environments with backend systems, such as Active Directory, file shares, and databases.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  
• Monitor system performance and availability, identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and performance.
• Provide level 2 and 3 support for Citrix-related incidents and requests, working with users and other IT teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Proactively manage and optimize Citrix environments, including user access, system resources, and load balancing.
• Security and Compliance:
  
• Implement security best practices for Citrix infrastructure, ensuring compliance with corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Configure and maintain Citrix Gateway (NetScaler) for secure remote access to corporate applications and desktops.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for Citrix infrastructure, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Generate reports on Citrix performance, user experience, and capacity utilization for senior management.
• Collaboration and Support:
  
• Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., network, storage, systems administration) to design and implement integrated IT solutions.
• Provide Citrix-related training and support to end-users, ensuring they can effectively access and use virtual applications and desktops.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience:
  
• Minimum 4 years of experience in managing and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.
• Hands-on experience with Citrix components such as Citrix Studio, Citrix Director, Citrix Delivery Controller, Citrix Gateway (NetScaler), and Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS).
• Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies and cloud platforms is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
  
• Strong knowledge of Citrix technologies, including XenApp, XenDesktop, Citrix ADC (NetScaler), and Citrix Workspace.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, SSL).
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
• Certifications:
  
• Citrix Certified Associate Virtualization (CCA-V) or Citrix Certified Professional Virtualization (CCP-V) preferred.
• Citrix Certified Expert Virtualization (CCE-V) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in networking, security, or cloud computing (e.g., CompTIA, AWS, Azure) are a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to collaborate with business and technical teams.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience with Citrix Cloud, Citrix Analytics, or other Citrix cloud-based solutions.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experience with Citrix monitoring and analytics tools, such as Citrix Director, Citrix Insight Services, or third-party monitoring solutions.
