Warehouse Manager

Position Overview: The Warehouse Manager in the textile industry is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials, finished products, and supplies. This role involves managing a team of warehouse staff, ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse processes, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. The Manager works closely with the procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and timely product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations Management:

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched according to company procedures.
• Oversee the receiving, labeling, and proper storage of raw materials, finished products, and supplies in the warehouse.
• Ensure timely picking and packing of orders for production or shipment to customers, meeting delivery deadlines.
• Manage inventory movement within the warehouse to ensure optimal organization and accessibility of materials and products.

Inventory Control & Management:

• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that materials and products are correctly counted, labeled, and stored.
• Conduct regular physical counts of inventory, reconcile discrepancies, and update inventory systems accordingly.
• Coordinate with the procurement and production teams to ensure that raw materials are available when needed and that excess inventory is minimized.
• Implement and enforce best practices for inventory management, including first-in-first-out (FIFO) and stock rotation strategies.

Order Fulfillment & Distribution:

• Ensure that orders for raw materials or finished goods are picked, packed, and shipped in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor order fulfillment rates and address any issues with order delays or discrepancies.
• Work closely with the logistics and production departments to plan and track delivery schedules.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

• Enforce health and safety regulations within the warehouse, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure that all warehouse operations comply with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials or chemicals in compliance with safety standards.
• Address and report any accidents or unsafe practices promptly.

Process Optimization & Efficiency:

• Continuously review and improve warehouse processes to optimize space utilization, reduce handling time, and increase efficiency.
• Identify and implement improvements in workflow, stock management, and storage solutions.
• Ensure proper use of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and shelving systems to increase operational efficiency.

Technology & Systems:

• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other inventory tracking software to monitor stock levels, order statuses, and warehouse activities.
• Train staff on the proper use of warehouse management systems and equipment to ensure data accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Assist in integrating new technologies or systems that improve warehouse operations.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse activities, inventory levels, stock movements, and order fulfillment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all warehouse transactions, including receipts, shipments, and inventory adjustments.
• Report any inventory discrepancies, order issues, or process bottlenecks to senior management.

Customer & Vendor Coordination:

• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the timely receipt and proper storage of raw materials and components.
• Work with the logistics team to ensure that customer orders are packed, labeled, and shipped according to specifications.
• Communicate with external suppliers or vendors when necessary to resolve issues related to stock or deliveries.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred).
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in warehouse management or supervision, preferably in the textile or manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping/receiving procedures.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and inventory control software.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations as they relate to warehouse operations.
• Forklift certification and experience with warehouse equipment is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the textile industry or with textile-related materials.
• Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles for process improvement.
• Familiarity with logistics and shipping coordination, including international shipping and documentation.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position with occasional overtime required during peak periods.
• Work will be performed in a warehouse or production facility, with exposure to industrial equipment and heavy lifting.
