Key skills for the job
A solar technical manager should manage a team of installer technicians responsible for the
installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems including solar panels, inverters, and associated equipment. Key Performance Indicators are project planning to ensure completion within time, within budget and complying with the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities in Team Co-ordination with thorough practical knowledge of :
1. Installation:
• Install solar panels on rooftops or other structures, following design specifications
and local building codes. Mount and secure solar panels, inverters, and other
components.
• Connect wiring and perform electrical connections to integrate solar systems with
the electrical grid.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
• Conduct routine maintenance to ensure the optimal performance of solar systems.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions or issues with solar panels, inverters, and related
equipment. Replace faulty components or perform system upgrades as needed.
3. Site Assessment:
• Conduct site surveys to assess the suitability of a location for solar installation.
• Determine the best positioning and angle for solar panels to maximize energy
production.
4. Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow industry-standard safety
practices.
5. Documentation:
• Assist the team and customer in preparing Local
Panchayat/Municipality/Corporation drawings.
• Document system configurations, wiring diagrams, and any changes made during
installations.
6. Customer Interaction:
• Assist the Sales Team in technical queries to support order closures. Communicate
with customers to explain the solar installation process, provide maintenance tips,
and address any questions or concerns.
7. Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that installations meet quality standards and comply with industry
regulations.
8. Qualifications:
• Diploma or Degree in Engg with additional technical or vocational training in Solar.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and basic understanding of solar technology.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
