Qualification:

Govt. recognized PG Degree / Degree / Diploma in Traffic/Transportation Engineering or Planning

Key Responsibilities

Traffic Safety Management

• Develop and implement Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) in coordination with project teams.
• Conduct traffic impact assessments and propose mitigation measures.
• Design and oversee the placement of temporary traffic control devices such as barriers, signage, and signals.
• Ensure adherence to traffic safety standards and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Compliance

• Monitor and enforce SHE standards specific to traffic management in accordance with project policies and legal requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for traffic-related activities.
• Investigate traffic-related incidents or near-misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders to address traffic and safety concerns.

Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with government agencies, local municipalities, and traffic police for approvals and coordination of traffic diversions.
• Coordinate with construction teams, contractors, and subcontractors to minimize disruptions and ensure safe work zones.
• Conduct regular training and awareness programs on traffic safety for workers and site personnel.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Conduct periodic site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with traffic and SHE policies.
• Prepare detailed reports on traffic safety performance, incidents, and compliance for project leadership.
• Maintain documentation of traffic management and SHE activities as per project and legal requirements.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, temporary traffic control, and road safety standards.
• Proficiency in traffic management software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Traffic Simulation Tools).
• Familiarity with SHE laws, standards, and best practices in metro construction projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or related field.
• Professional certification in traffic management or safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is preferred.
• Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in SHE and traffic management, with at least 5 years in metro or infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of managing traffic and SHE aspects in complex construction environments.
