Production Planning and Control Engineer (Aluminium Die-casting)

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer demands and production capabilities.
• Evaluate and forecast resource needs (materials, labor, equipment) for short- and long-term production planning.
• Drive continuous improvements in production planning methods to optimize lead times, cost efficiency, and product quality.
• Oversee the management of raw materials and components, working closely with procurement to ensure timely availability and minimize stock outs or excess inventory.
• Lead the coordination of inventory management, ensuring efficient use of materials and reduction of waste.
• Implement and manage material tracking systems to ensure accuracy and real-time visibility of material usage.
• Manage complex production schedules, coordinating multiple shifts and production lines to meet or exceed delivery targets.
• Monitor day-to-day production activities, identifying any potential bottlenecks or deviations from the plan and proactively resolving them.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement, applying lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve overall production efficiency.
• Analyze production data to assess performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Drive initiatives to maintain and improve product quality, through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Act as a liaison between production teams and senior management, ensuring clear communication on production status, issues, and opportunities.
• Prepare detailed production reports for senior management, providing insights into production performance, resource utilization, and quality metrics.
• Analyze historical production data and develop forecasting models to optimize future production planning.
• Manage and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate production effectiveness and implement improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of die casting processes (including mold design, injection, cooling, etc.) and associated quality standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
