We operate A busy Airport Lounge in Tanzania which requires a highly skilled, versatile and an adaptable individual who is motivated to perform. The lounge is frequented by tourists and dignitaries from across the globe.

Job Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (Dar es Salaam International Airport)

Role & responsibilities

1. Kitchen Operations:

• • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation.
• • Supervise all kitchen activities to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
• • Oversee inventory management, food ordering, and cost control.
• 2. Menu Development:
• • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and innovate menu items.
• • Ensure recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards are maintained.
• 3. Staff Management:
• • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a productive and motivated team.
• • Organize staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during busy periods.
• • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• 4. Quality Control:
• • Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards.
• • Monitor kitchen cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety regulations.
• 5. Cost Management:
• • Assist in monitoring and controlling food and labor costs.
• • Work on waste reduction and efficient use of ingredients.
• 6. Customer Satisfaction:
• • Address and resolve customer feedback regarding food quality and service.
• • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

Preferred candidate profile

• • Education: Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field.
• • Experience:
• • Proven experience in a senior culinary role, such as Sous Chef or similar.
• • Experience in various kitchen stations and cuisines.
• • Skills:
• • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• • Creative culinary skills and a passion for food quality and innovation.
• • Proficiency in kitchen software for inventory, scheduling, and reporting.
