Data Cataloging Specialist - Alation

Job Title : Data Cataloging SpecialistJob Description :We are looking for a detail

-oriented Data Cataloging Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data management principles and practices, along with experience in data cataloging tools such as Alation. This role requires familiarity with data classification, data profiling, and data quality assessment, as well as the ability to work with large datasets.Key Responsibilities :

- Curate data within Alation, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

- Create and manage approval process flow structures in Alation.

- Develop and implement policies and procedures for data governance within Alation.

- Collaborate with the JJT team to ensure data lineage is accurate and technical attributes are correctly matched.

- Create Alation glossaries and job aids to assist end users in navigating and utilizing glossaries effectively.

- Provide best practices and innovative ideas to enhance user experience within Alation.Job Requirements :

- Strong understanding of data management principles and practices.

- Proficiency in data cataloging tools, particularly Alation.

- Familiarity with data classification techniques.

- Experience with data profiling and data quality assessment.

- Ability to work effectively with large datasets.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating with technical teams and end users.Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures.

- Familiarity with data lineage concepts and practices.
