Mechanical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing faults, and repairing equipment.
• Safety: Ensure that equipment and machinery are kept in good working order and meet all safety regulations.
• Inventory: Maintain inventory of mechanical components and parts, and place orders when needed.
• Design: Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet industry standards and client requirements.
• Procurement: Coordinate with the stores and purchase department to ensure the availability of necessary parts and equipment.
• Supplier evaluation: Evaluate and recommend suppliers based on quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Documentation: Prepare product reports and documentation.
• Mechanical engineers may also be responsible for:
• Overseeing the installation, operation, and repair of equipment
• Supervising production workers, technicians, and other engineers
• Estimating costs and submitting bids for projects
• Establishing maintenance and safety procedures
