Job Description

Purpose/Mission of the function

To support sales with technical solutions, prepare cost estimations and proposals. Once the contract has been won, hand over the project to the assigned project manager.


Job performance fields and responsibilities

Defining a solution

  • Evaluate the customers enquiry, tenders
  • Study the different technical concepts.

Preparing a quotation

  • Preparing Techno-commercial proposal for customer including data sheet in cooperation with other disciplines (project management, design, procurement) and external suppliers.
  • Responding to tenders, obtaining critical inputs for design & preparation of technical offer, clarification & deviations, HMBDs, PFDs etc.
  • Preparation of bill of material & cost estimation based on the relevant technical information and cost information available Forbesvyncke and if needed with the help of procurement.
  • Work with the principle of total cost of ownership in order to integrate this into a winning proposal.
  • Preparation of purchase specifications and vendor quote evaluation, floating enquiries to suppliers for backup costing.
  • Consult actively various technical specialists internally
  • Use our network of specialized subcontractors externally.
  • Guarantee a professional quotation at high format standards
  • Make a professional presentation of the proposed solution.
  • Prepare presales drawings like P&ID and lay out drawings and coordinate with draftsmen to execute the drawing.

Selling the solution

  • Participate in the sales tactic the project sales manager has prepared.
  • Accompany the project sales manager during client visits. • Understand the selling process and the role the function fulfills.
  • Give presentations or prepare documents when required.
  • Connect with the (potential) customer and build a relationship.

Initialize the projects internally

  • Processing the order in the system
  • Coordinating the commercial documents between customer and internal legal and accounts (ABG, financial info, GST certificates...)
  • Organize the handover meeting and lead it so to translate the sold project to all disciplines involved. (Project managing, design engineer, procurement, project team manager etc.). Make available all documents needed for the execution of the project (contract, budget sheet).

Education BE / Me in Mechanical or Chemical


Experience 3 to 7 Years


Technical

• Product knowledge in Biomass, Coal fired Boiler applications and knowledge of feeding system is preferred

• Thorough knowledge on thermal engineering, thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, fluid mechanics and hydraulics.

• Knowledge of material selection and thickness calculation for different design condition

• Knowledge on codes and standards related to boiler design like IBR, ASME, EN Codes.

• Knowledge of Fuels and Combustion and Emission control technologies like Bag filter, ESP, Wet Scrubber etc.

• Basic knowledge of rotating equipments (pumps, fans, compressors, motors, etc.)

• Basic knowledge of boiler instrumentation (gauges, transmitters, sensors, etc.)

• Basic knowledge of boiler Electricals (motors, MCC, cabling, etc.)
