Pricing & Commercial Strategy: Role & responsibilities

Industry: Hydro Power, Renewable Energy
Experience Required: 12+ years
Qualification: Diploma/B.Tech/BE (Mechanical/Electrical)

Key Responsibilities

Project Marketing & Business Development:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the hydro power sector, both domestically and internationally.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including power project developers, government agencies (e.g., NHPC, IREDA), and hydro consultants.
• Develop and implement strategies to expand the company's market presence in the hydro power industry.

Tendering & Bidding Process:

• Lead the preparation and submission of bids for hydro power projects, ensuring compliance with technical and commercial requirements.
• Analyze tender documents, including technical specifications, commercial terms, and FIDIC conditions.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal) to prepare competitive and accurate proposals

Technical Skills:

• Possess a strong understanding of hydro power project components, including turbines (Pelton, Francis, Kaplan), generators, transformers, switchyards, and control systems.
• Review and interpret technical specifications and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Pricing & Commercial Strategy:
• Develop pricing strategies for bids, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with clients, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company.
• Client Relationship Management:
  
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the pre-sales and post-sales phases.
• Address client concerns, provide solutions, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Market Research & Analysis:
• Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the hydro power sector.
• Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics to inform business strategi
• Team Collaboration & Leadership:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and project management, to ensure seamless execution of projects.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of hydro power project components and systems.
• Expertise in tendering, bidding, and contract management (FIDIC conditions).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates with prior experience in sales and marketing of hydro power projects will be given preference.
• Familiarity with international markets and export processes is a plus.
• Candidates from the hydro power industry are preferred.
