PHP Developer - Laravel/Symfony (3-5 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain dynamic, high-performance web applications using PHP.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and other developers to ensure seamless development.

- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices in coding standards.

- Work with various PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, etc.) and implement robust features and solutions.

- Debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing existing code to ensure speed, security, and performance.

- Integrate third-party services and APIs into the system.

- Design and implement database schemas and work with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.

- Conduct code reviews to ensure that coding standards are adhered to and implement unit testing for reliability and robustness.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging web technologies and best practices and incorporate them into development work.

- Collaborate in the deployment and maintenance of web applications, ensuring they run smoothly on servers.

- Maintain and update existing websites and applications to improve user experience and functionality.

- Assist in troubleshooting issues reported by clients or team members, and find solutions promptly.

Technical Skills & Requirements :

Core Skills :

PHP :

- Strong knowledge of PHP, including the latest versions, and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.

PHP Frameworks :

- Hands-on experience with popular PHP frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.

Database Management :

- Strong understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or any other relational database management system.

- Ability to design and optimize databases.

API Integration :

- Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with third-party services.

Version Control :

- Proficiency in using Git for version control and understanding collaborative development processes.

HTML/CSS/JavaScript :

- Solid knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (React, jQuery, or Vue.js).

Security :

- Good understanding of web security practices (e., SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, etc.

Testing :

- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as PHPUnit for unit testing and TDD (Test Driven Development) practices.

Additional Skills :

E-commerce platforms :

- Experience with e-commerce solutions like WooCommerce or Magento (nice-to-have).

Server-Side Scripting :

- Experience with Nginx and Apache web server configurations.

Cloud platforms :

- Familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud for cloud-based deployments is an advantage.

Agile Development :

- Familiarity with agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban and using tools like JIRA for project management.

Performance Optimization :

- Experience in website speed optimization and improving web performance.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working with PHP and web technologies.

- Experience with content management systems like WordPress (nice-to-have).
