Senior PHP Developer - Laravel/CodeIgniter (4-7 yrs)

Role Overview :

We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer with strong expertise in PHP development and hands-on experience working with popular CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, and Magento. As a Senior PHP Developer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining web applications, ensuring that the solutions are scalable, secure, and high-performing.

This role requires you to stay ahead of the latest web development trends and continuously improve the functionality and performance of our projects.

Key Responsibilities :

- Web Application Development : Develop, customize, and maintain web applications using PHP and CMS platforms like WordPress, Shopify, and Magento.

- Responsive Solutions : Design and implement responsive, user-friendly, and high-performance solutions based on client requirements.

- Coding Best Practices : Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.

- Troubleshooting & Debugging : Debug and troubleshoot existing applications to enhance functionality, resolve performance issues, and improve overall user experience.

- Collaborative Work : Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver projects on time and meet client expectations.

- CMS Updates : Stay updated with emerging web development trends and CMS platform updates (WordPress, Shopify, Magento) to apply innovative solutions.

- Performance Optimization : Focus on optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring security and high availability.

- Code Review : Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, error-free code and to maintain a consistent coding style across the team.

- Security Best Practices : Ensure secure coding practices, including preventing cross-site scripting (XSS), SQL injection, and other vulnerabilities.

- SEO Optimization : Implement SEO best practices for websites to ensure visibility on search engines.

- Agile Practices : Actively participate in agile development cycles, providing timely feedback, participating in sprint planning, and delivering iterative improvements.

Key Skills & Competencies :

- PHP Development : Strong experience with PHP development, including object-oriented programming (OOP), MVC frameworks (i.e., Laravel, CodeIgniter), and design patterns.

- CMS Expertise : Hands-on experience with WordPress, Shopify, and Magento, including theme and plugin/module development. Experience with headless CMS is a plus.

- Front-End Technologies : Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery. Strong understanding of responsive design principles to create mobile-friendly websites.

- JavaScript Frameworks : Experience with modern JS frameworks like ReactJS, VueJS, or Angular for front-end development.

- API & Integration : Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, third-party integrations, and developing custom plugins/modules.

- Database Management : Strong understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases. Proficiency in database optimization and query performance tuning.

- Version Control : Familiarity with Git for version control, managing branches, and collaborating with a team.

- Security Awareness : Knowledge of web security principles (i.e., OWASP) and best practices for securing web applications.

- Performance Optimization : Experience in optimizing web applications for speed, scalability, and performance, including techniques like caching, lazy loading, and image optimization.

- SEO Best Practices : Familiarity with SEO optimization, such as URL structure, meta tags, and schema markup to improve site ranking.

- Unit Testing & Debugging : Experience with testing frameworks (i.e., PHPUnit, Codeception) and debugging tools to ensure robust and error-free applications.

- Agile Development : Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.

- Cross-Browser Compatibility : Ensure web applications work smoothly across different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.

- CI/CD Tools : Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes.

- Cloud Platforms : Knowledge of cloud hosting platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for scalable web app deployment.

- Project Management : Strong project management skills, able to track and manage tasks efficiently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications :

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

- Experience : Minimum of 4 years of experience in PHP development, with expertise in CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, and Magento.

- Certifications : Relevant certifications (i.e., Magento Certified Developer, WordPress Developer Certification) are a plus
