Role Summary:

As a Functional QA Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure product quality by conducting manual functional testing, identifying defects and validating that products meet user needs and business goals. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and execute test plans, ensuring that each release meets the required functional criteria for functionality, performance, usability and reliability. The role involves performing various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that each release meets the required functional criteria for performance, usability and reliability.

Entry Criteria:

• Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Functional QA or Software Testing.
• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Agile methodologies (Scrum)..
• Familiarity with test management tools (JIRA, TestLink, etc.).
• Must have - JIRA, TestLink, Postman, Jmeter, Burp Suite, Figma,
• Nice to have - Test automation tools (Selenium, Appium, PlayWright, RestAssured etc.), GitHub

Responsibilities:

• Create test plans and cases based on requirements and user stories, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
• Execute functional, regression, integration and UAT tests across platforms (web, mobile, desktop).
• Track defects using tools like Jira.
• Log defects, work with developers for timely fixes and validate defect resolutions.
• Partner with developers, product teams and analysts to align test cases with requirements and provide feedback on specifications.
• Perform different types of testing - functional, performance, API, security, regression, UAT testing etc.
• Maintain clear documentation, reporting test progress, risks and issues to stakeholders.
• Contribute to improving testing processes and methodologies, exploring AI tools to enhance test coverage and predict risks.
• Collaborate with the automation team to identify opportunities for automating repetitive tests.
• Support cross-functional teams like DevOps to ensure smooth integration and deployment, considering non-functional aspects like performance and security.
