Job Summary

Software Engineer will translate functional requirements into system requirements while developing applications for First American, these are typically web based applications developed by adhering to coding standards and guidelines by following a continuous Build-Integrate-Test (Agile) approach.

Software Engineer will have Understanding the software development lifecycle and has knowledge of the overall application development space combined with a basic understanding of the business and domain.

Role will build basic code assigned modules and features using available stacks and knowledge of programming languages generally under supervision, will apply standard trouble shooting and debugging concepts to achieve speed and efficiency.

Software Engineer will understand the Agile manifesto and ceremonies, will design and develop basic DB solutions, work with Configuration Management tools to enforce CM practices and processes. Role is required to adhere to the QA standards defined by the organization and will work with a deep understanding of performance bottlenecks, production infrastructure, interfaces and dependencies of the product.

Technical Skills:

• At least 2.5 years of experience in Handling GIS/Spatial Data In MSSQL/PostGreSQL/FME Software applications
• At least 1 years of experience developing web and desktop GIS applications.
• Strong knowledge in MSSQL (Spatial Queries, procedure, function, CRUD operations, Comparisons, Joining etc ), SQL Spatial, PostGreSQl GIS
• Strong knowledge of GIS tools especially FME/QGIS/GDAL/ESRI tools (ARC Map/ArcGIS)
• Experience developing GIS solutions using C#.NET and mapping SDKs including experience in using Visual Studio.
• Good Knowledge of GIS & spatial data analysis.
• Good Knowledge of Regular Expression and Data Matching.
• Light database administration, performance tuning, ability to quickly identify bottlenecks.
• Good to have Java, Python, Java Script Reactive Programming

• Roles and Responsibilities:
• Will be responsible for implementing ETL design, data on-boarding, transformation, and pipeline processes leading to production of final data files for our customers. Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple parallel tasks and experience in handling production processes for large spatial data sets are distinct advantages.
• Design, code, test and execute applications used to support GIS data

• Educational Qualification and Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of formal education - Graduate / Post Graduate in Computer Science / Information Technology.

Professional work experience of 3 to 5 years.
