Mechanical Engineer - Maintainance

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in extrusion machine maintenance from Pipe Industry. The ideal candidate will ensure minimum downtime on plant equipment and achieve the highest productivity. They will be responsible for planning daily maintenance jobs, assisting in preparing breakdown and failure analysis reports, managing spare parts, complying with health, safety, and environmental standards, and troubleshooting and improving plant operations.

Major Activities:

1. Daily Maintenance Planning: Plan maintenance jobs on a day-to-day basis through discussions with the process shift incharge.
2. Field Support: Provide field support for daily maintenance activities based on plant priorities.
3. Resource Mobilization: Mobilize resources to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
4. Engineering Standards: Be conversant with various engineering standards, codes, and materials of construction.
5. Manual Utilization: Study equipment construction manuals and utilize them in maintenance activities.
6. Log Book Maintenance: Record daily work status in log books.
7. Support for Modifications: Provide field support for major modifications, small projects, and annual shutdowns.
8. Departmental Support: Support other departments with various requirements.
9. Shopfloor Rounds: Conduct a minimum of two shopfloor rounds daily to monitor running equipment.
10. Housekeeping: Maintain housekeeping standards within the department.
11. Training and Development: Undergo various training sessions to upgrade knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in extrusion machine maintenance within the Pipe industry
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and materials of construction.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
