Occupational Therapist

1. Clinical Responsibilities :

• Through assessment and analysis of findings, develop individual goal- oriented treatment and intervention plans in collaboration with family/caregivers and colleagues. This will include the application of skills to assess motor, sensory and cognitive function in the context of the clients social and physical environment.
• To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.

• To demonstrate professional skills and standards consistent with best practices and to ensure that services provided comply with professional and departmental standards of practice.

2. Communication :

• To communicate effectively with other professionals, family/caregivers to ensure an integrated pattern of service delivery. Use formal and informal reporting mechanism to ensure effective communication.
• Use effective inter-personal skills to encourage family/caregivers in active participation in occupational therapy process.
• To attend and contribute to department meetings, multi-disciplinary team meetings, and progress meeting relating to clinical case load.
• To record clients treatment and other related activity in accordance with professional and departmental guidelines.
• Build and sustain relationships as an independent practitioner and collaboratively as a member of the team.

3. Professional Development :

• To remain informed on developments and trends in OT practice by study of the current literature available and to adapt own working practices accordingly.
• To maintain current knowledge of evidence base and good practice through engagement with variety of opportunities like workshops, conference, courses, meetings, networks and special interest groups.

4. Responsibility :

• To be accountable for the OT materials and equipment and maintaining the records for the same.

5. Reporting :

• To report to the in charge of the OT department regarding daily functioning which includes identifying relevant assessment to be done, reviewing the intervention plan, setting goals and ensuring proper follow up.
• To provide weekly report to the in charge of OT department.
• To demonstrate an ability to be organized, punctual, flexible, and function smoothly.

Maintaining a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
