CAD Support Engineer Roles and Responsibilities

Description:
The CAD Support Engineer is responsible of supporting and training the users of the CAD softwares: Catia and NX-UG. He/she applies the best practices of FAS and guides the designers in their daily tasks. He/she works with international support team, working on the development and the deployment of the best practices in the Asian perimeter.
The main missions of the role are:
o Methodologies deployment: informing, training on and promoting the Seating methodologies.
o Support the CAD templates deployment: informing, training on and promoting the internal CAD templates (generic models).
o Identification of the need: gathering the needs of new specific methodologies or templates.
o Creation of new methodologies: working in the worldwide Support team to create or improve the Seating methods. This activity is performed in collaboration with the designers, taking into account the project constraints.
o Put in place the CAD data exchange procedures with the customer portals.
o Support the CAD / PDM reviews within the EFM (Engineering Functional Milestones) of the PMS process.
o PDM: organizations of trainings for new versions roll-out of CAD interface. Follow-up the request for improvements, participation to the test phases.
o Methodologies for data storage in PDM: insuring the data conformity regarding the CAD /PDM interface.
o Review , control and check usage of CAD licence for India region
o Drive on efficiency improvement in CAD development process
Specific missions and results:
o Creation of new templates: writing specifications for templates development.
o Define test scenarios and test the CAD the templates.
o Participation to the User Acceptance Tests (UAT) of new CAD and PDM environment releases.
o Animation of meetings with key-user representatives.
o Seating Engineering Academy trainer for CAD PDM modules in India, Korea, Japan.
Skills Attributes:
o Minimum bi-lingual: good English required to provide trainings.
o Knowledge of seat components, structure and automobile terminology is a bonus value.
o Leadership skills.
o Good Analytics skills
o International mind set.
o Team player with strong communication skills.

Qualifications
o Bachelor or Masters degree in engineering.
o Experience of 3 years minimum in CAD activity.
o Knowledge in depth of Catia V5 / UG-NX.
o Knowledge template development - UG-NX and Catia.
o Two years minimum of experience in mechanics.
