Job Description

Job Title: Head Chef

Location: Bangalore (Domlur) Including Accommodation.

The Head Chef is a vital leadership role within our kitchen, responsible for overseeing the overall operations and culinary direction of our establishment. This position is crucial to maintaining our reputation for high-quality dining experiences, innovating menu items, and leading a team of culinary professionals. As the Head Chef, you will ensure that our food quality meets our high standards while promoting a positive work environment. Your leadership will also influence the creativity of dishes, compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and consideration of food costs. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional culinary skills, a strong understanding of kitchen management, and the ability to inspire and motivate a team. A passion for food and a commitment to excellence are essential attributes for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a diverse and seasonal menu.
Lead kitchen staff in preparing dishes, ensuring presentation and taste quality.
Manage kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and reducing waste.
Hire, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Monitor food preparation and cooking processes for consistency and quality.
Quickly resolve any customer complaints about food quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
Collaborate with management to manage food costs and budgets effectively.
Create and conduct regular kitchen staff meetings to ensure alignment on goals and standards.
Stay current with industry trends to keep the menu innovative and appealing.
Ensure all kitchen activities are carried out in line with the companys sustainability practices.
Assist in developing promotional events and special menus.
Evaluate and enhance kitchen procedures, systems, and equipment.
Perform regular checks of food quality and presentation before serving.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role.
Formal culinary training or equivalent experience is preferred.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in various cooking techniques and styles.
Extensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to manage kitchen staff effectively, including training and development.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Experience managing food costs and inventory.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Creativity in menu planning and gastronomic techniques.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Familiarity with computer software for inventory and order management.
A passion for creating innovative dishes and ingredients.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
