Food Photographer

Role & responsibilities:

• Capture high-quality food images for digital content, social media, and menu shoots, ensuring that all images align with the brands aesthetic and standards.
• Set up and control lighting, angles, and compositions to highlight food items at their best, ensuring the setup is clearly visible in the frame.
• Work closely with the food styling and production teams to plan and execute shoots.
• Adhere to brand guidelines and visual identity when composing shots and selecting setups.
• Troubleshoot and adapt to challenges or last-minute changes on set to maintain the highest quality standards.
• Contribute creative ideas and solutions to improve shoot outcomes, even within time and resource constraints.
• Ensure post-production requirements are clear by collaborating with the editing team to deliver files that are easy to work with.
• Maintain and organize photography equipment, ensuring that all tools are in top working condition for shoots.
• Continuously research and stay updated on food photography trends, lighting techniques, and equipment to enhance the quality of your work.
• Have strong interpersonal skills to be able to deal with multiple people effectively with a strong ability to be able to convey abstract thoughts and ideas.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Experience working with food brands, restaurants, or in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of food styling and the ability to collaborate effectively with food stylists.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in food photography, with a portfolio that demonstrates expertise in food imagery.
• Strong understanding of lighting techniques, especially for food styling and product shoots.
• Ability to think creatively and suggest executable ideas within the constraints of time and resources.
• Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges on set.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for visually representing food.
• Familiarity with digital photography tools, software, and post-production workflows.
• Ability to set up shots with all key elements visible in the frame while adhering to brand guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple shoots and tight deadlines.
