Engineer II

This position is responsible for working on a variety of technical problems of moderate scope & complexity. Designs, codes, tests under general supervision. Collaborate with peers under the direction of technical leads on assigned project teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Contributes to the design and implementation of major components of products
• Evaluate and design the implementation of current source code
• Document software designs via functional specifications and other design documents
• Collaborate with team members and technical leads
• Responsible for upholding F5 s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience with network and web technologies
• 1-2 years programming experience preferably in a software language that supports F5 product line.
• 1-2 years development experience in networking domain
• Manual and automaiton test experience.
• Analytic / trouble-shooting skills
• Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance environment
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications
• Scope of projects increased. Can implement new functionality in at least two specific skill areas.
• Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in testing of L2-L7 protocols.
• Experience in automation, preferably python or golang
• Proficient in Linux OS environment
• Familiarity Linux software installation processes, procedures and RPMs
• SW development experience using Kubernetes and Openshift
• Familiarity with Agile Process work in iterative fashion
• Experience using configuration management tools; GitLab preferred to write and review code
• Knowledge of CI/CD and project management tools (eg, Git, Jenkins, Jira, Bugzilla, etc) is preferred
