AWS Devops Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

AWS Cloud Infrastructure Management:

• Manage, deploy, and optimize AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, EBS, ALB, RDS (PostgreSQL), IAM, CloudFormation, and Auto Scaling.
• Provision and manage scalable and highly available infrastructure solutions on AWS, using best practices for security, scalability, and cost optimization.
• Design, implement, and manage virtual networks in AWS, ensuring proper configurations and securing data communication across different components.

Database Management:

• Manage PostgreSQL databases (RDS), including backup, recovery, performance tuning, patching, and security configuration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related performance issues and optimize queries and resource usage.

Automation and CI/CD:

• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines using AWS services like AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, ECS, ECR, and AWS Fargate.
• Automate the deployment process and configuration management using tools like CloudFormation and Shell scripting.
• Ensure efficient integration and delivery pipelines, automating the testing and deployment processes for applications.

DevOps and Containerization:

• Manage Docker environments and work with AWS Fargate and ECS for container orchestration and scaling.
• Implement infrastructure as code using CloudFormation templates to provision and manage AWS resources.

Cloud Security and IAM:

• Work with AWS IAM to implement fine-grained access controls and ensure secure access to AWS services and resources.
• Regularly audit cloud security configurations to maintain compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Operating System & Networking:

• Strong working knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu/Amazon Linux) and Windows OS for managing applications, systems, and configurations in cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot issues related to networking, compute instances, and cloud resources.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, logs, and metrics to ensure optimal operation and troubleshoot issues efficiently.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

• Diagnose and resolve operational issues across a wide range of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents related to system performance, availability, and reliability.

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with development, operations, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment processes.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure setups, CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting guides, and other technical processes.

Skills & Experience Required:

• AWS Services: Hands-on experience with a wide range of AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, EBS, Auto Scaling, RDS (PostgreSQL), ALB, CloudFormation, IAM, and Networking.
• Operating Systems: Solid experience with both Linux (Ubuntu/Amazon Linux) and Windows OS, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Database Management: Strong experience with PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, including database management, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Scripting & Automation: Proficient in Shell scripting for automation tasks. Experience with writing and maintaining scripts to automate cloud infrastructure and management tasks.
• CI/CD & DevOps Tools: Hands-on experience setting up CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS ECS/ECR. Knowledge of Docker and containerization concepts.
• Networking: Strong understanding of VPC, subnets, security groups, NACLs, and VPN solutions in AWS.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues across AWS services, with experience in monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure.
• CloudFormation: Experience in using CloudFormation to define and deploy AWS infrastructure as code.
• Desired Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and independently. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
