API Developer

Overview:
We are looking for a skilled API Developer with 4-5 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable APIs. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the overall architecture of our systems and ensure the seamless integration of APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs for internal and external integration.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with backend and frontend developers to integrate API services with web and mobile applications.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of the APIs through appropriate testing and optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API performance, security, and integration.
• Develop API documentation and support API lifecycle management, including versioning and testing.
• Ensure secure API authentication and authorization, following industry standards like OAuth and JWT.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and continuously improve the development process.
• Stay up-to-date with new industry trends and technologies related to API development

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in API development and integration.
• Proficiency in API development using technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, or similar.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and GraphQL API principles.
• Experience with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Familiarity with API gateway solutions like Kong, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway.
• Solid understanding of security principles in API development (OAuth, JWT, SSL, etc.).
• Knowledge of version control tools such as Git.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
