Software Development Engineer III - Front End - Advertising Technology

The goal of Media Solutions(MeSo) Tech team is to spearhead advertising products and services across many Expedia brands including BEX, Hotels.com , Portfolio Brands (COMET & Hotwire.com ), Expedia Partner Sites (EPS), and Vrbo. We help our advertisers identify travellers on EG sites, target specific traveller criteria, and then deliver the most relevant products.

As a Software Development Engineer III, you will propose, design and implement various initiatives. As a member of the team, you will work in alliance with global teams providing the technical expertise needed to overcome hard problems. In this role, you will:

• Lead the design and implement products and solutions that are highly scalable with high-quality, clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full technology stack
• Design and ship great user experiences on various platforms and libraries including Progressive Web Applications, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), ReactJS, GraphQL, and other cutting-edge technologies.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the technical staff and other partners to build and ship outstanding software in a fast-paced environment
• Find opportunities for process and technology improvements, and work towards adoption and implementation
• Assist with supporting Production systems (includes investigating issues and working towards resolution)
• Exercise creativity and provide alternative solutions to a given problem removing roadblocks and driving issues to closure
• Create/update documentation for the purpose of sharing knowledge between team members
• Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique the work of self and others
• Participate in user story creation in partnership with the team(s)

Experience and qualifications:

• Experience in web UI development based on JavaScript and frameworks, such as ReactJS
• Excellent coding skills
• Own multiple software components of the front-end using React.js.
• A subject matter expert for UI front-end and should be able to solve ambiguous problems.

Experience: 4+ years

• You have knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and have worked in a CI/CD environment.
• Be self-motivated with drive and good organizational skills to work on a fast-paced team delivering product features
• Critical thinker, expected to speak out and voice concerns when needed
• Passionate about learning and improving our codebase and developer experience
• You have collaborated closely with Product Managers to represent the technical feasibility of work and turn requirements into technical solutions
