FSSC Record to Report (General Ledger) Executive
Short description:
The Record to Report Executive (RTR Executive) is a part of the General Ledger (GL) Accounting vertical for select entities and is responsible for the services defined between the Captive Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC) of Saint-Gobain India and internal clients (Saint-Gobain entities in India) for the Record-to-Report (RTR) function. He/She ensures the quality of the General Accounting processes and associated activities like audit, controls, compliance, and process improvement in this function.
Job Purpose:
The RTR Executive is a representative of the RTR function that handles accurate and timely delivery of GL accounting activities, finalization of books of accounts, reporting as per statute, coordinating, and managing the day-to-day operations of the RTR team for multiple entities. He / She will ensure compliance and controls as per statute and also collaborate with auditors to ensure successful closure of audit with respect to Statutory, Group, Tax, and Internal Audit guidelines. He / She will partner with business and provide value added inputs that would help in achieving business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
RTR Vertical:
- Smooth delivery of day-to-day operations for R2R vertical as per the agreed SLA's & KPI's between FSSC and clients.
- The key deliverables include
• Financial accounting, finalization of books of accounts and reporting as per IND AS for statutory
books and IFRS for group reporting.
• Ensure that the deadlines & deliverables of monthly, quarter and year end close requirements
are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support financial statement preparation, directly or indirectly and effectively establish an
integrated accounting and reporting system.
• Prepare monthly Balance sheet account reconciliations and perform P&L analysis to ensure the
integrity of accounts
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure successful audit and compliance with respect to Statutory,
Group, Tax, and Internal Audit guidelines
• Ensure tax compliances for all entities in India, which includes TDS and TCS payment, return
filing & reconciliations. Provide financial data for Direct and Indirect Tax Assessments.
• Drive improvement projects for reducing manual efforts and optimizing operational efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with the Internal Control principles and accounting standards. Maintain
proper internal controls in FSSC India as per the groups Internal Control Reference framework.
Stakeholder Relationship :
- Manage relationship and liaise with the stakeholders for ensuring alignment on process related
activities and changes in process.
- Conduct periodic review with business stakeholders and ensure client satisfaction for internal SSC
clients (entities).
- Partner with business and provide value added inputs that would help in achieving business objectives.
- Act as a point of escalation for critical/ complex service issues
- Build client relationship, drive confidence & improve client happiness
Team Coordination within FSSC :
- Carry out team coordination responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
applicable laws, including:
- Plan, assign and direct work.
- Continuously strive to build a culture of high-performance.
- Facilitate effective teamwork and build collaborative relationships internally and externally
Service Excellence :
- Ensure overall delivery of services meets or exceeds agreed KPIs, and SLAs defined between internal
clients and FSSC and is within a strong internal control framework.
- Ensure that the Internal Customer and Supplier issues are dealt with in accordance with the escalation
process.
- Harmonize with the team leader to prepare and present key performance reports to senior leadership
on a regular basis.
- Develop strategic financial initiatives to improve results and support management in a variety of
strategic and operational decisions.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement :
- Continuously have a mindset of innovation aimed at constantly challenging the norm to drive business value.
- Ensure a disciplined approach to operational excellence/performance management that evolves over time.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives to improve profitability.
Transition Support :
- Participate in service or ERP transitions of RTR processes, when required.
- Bring in shared service specific knowledge & best practices for smooth implementation and execution.
- Providing inputs by participating in technology testing & demos, UATs & deployment activities during
process transition to FSSC.
Preferred candidate profile
Post-Graduate with Inter CA/CMA (5+ years of experience)
Experience: - Exposure in a client service function or Captive Finance Shared Services or in the
accounting department of a multinational organization (manufacturing company preferable).
Skills & Knowledge :
- Hands-on experience of accounting ERP's (preferably SAP) with good knowledge across finance
processes (RTR) including best practices, technologies, processes & tools.
- In-depth knowledge of IND AS or IFRS/US GAAP and other accounting / auditing/ reporting standards.
- Ability to think strategically, taking a balanced short and long-term view when solving problems.
- Experience of working in an operations environment to deliver high quality outcomes and results.
- Result oriented, with a high level of motivation for self-growth.
- Experience of working for a multinational organization and interacting with colleagues internationally.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to communicate effectively.
