Executive

The Executive - Indirect Taxation is responsible for managing the company’s indirect tax affairs, ensuring compliance with GST, VAT, service tax, excise duty, customs duty, and other applicable indirect taxes. The role involves preparation and filing of tax returns, handling assessments and audits, and providing advisory support to business units on tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file GST/VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Manage compliance with all other applicable indirect taxes (service tax, excise duty, customs duty, etc.).
• Maintain and update tax records and documentation.
• Provide tax advisory support to business units on transactions, ensuring tax-efficient practices.
• Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
• Advise on tax-saving opportunities and strategies.
• Handle indirect tax audits and assessments conducted by tax authorities.
• Prepare and submit required documentation and responses to tax authorities.
• Liaise with external consultants and legal advisors on complex tax matters.
• Perform reconciliation of tax returns with financial records.
• Generate and present tax-related reports to management.
• Ensure proper accounting and reporting of indirect taxes in financial statements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax compliance and reporting.
• Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax processes.
• Train and educate internal stakeholders on indirect tax compliance and changes in regulations

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA) is preferred.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in indirect taxation, preferably in a corporate setting or tax consulting firm.
• Hands-on experience with GST, VAT, and other indirect taxes.
