About the Role:
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop our sales team, driving revenue growth and market share within a defined territory.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional sales acumen, proven leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.
- This role requires a hands-on approach, capable of developing and executing sales plans, mentoring team members, and building strong relationships with clients.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, tactics, and sales plans to achieve agreed profit targets for the assigned area of responsibility.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape.
- Define clear sales objectives and targets for individual team members, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance against targets, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to maximize their potential.
- Communicate sales plans, targets, and objectives effectively to the team, ensuring clarity and buy-in.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and identifying training needs.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, expanding the client base and market share.
- Actively engage with clients, gathering feedback on products and services, and addressing any concerns.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
Sales Operations & Reporting:
- Oversee the sales process, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate sales records and reports, utilizing CRM and other relevant tools.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and updates to senior management.
- Manage sales budgets and expenses effectively.
Financial Awareness:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial principles, particularly in relation to tender/quotation/budget processes.
- Develop pricing strategies that are competitive and profitable.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance against budget, identifying variances and taking corrective action.
Product Knowledge:
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's product line and its applications.
- Provide technical expertise to clients and the sales team.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitive offerings.
Qualifications:
- Education: MBA preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of work experience in a technical or sales role, preferably within a related industry aligned with the company's product line.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Databases, and PowerPoint.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of financial principles related to tender/quotation/budget processes.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a sales team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as required.
