Job Title: Functional QA Engineer (TMS) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Functional QA Engineer with expertise in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to join our quality assurance team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of TMS applications by creating, executing, and maintaining test cases. The role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with TMS, and the ability to collaborate with developers and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and execute functional test cases for TMS applications .
- Analyze business requirements and functional specifications to create detailed test plans and test scripts.
- Perform manual testing of TMS features to ensure they meet the expected functionality.
- Validate workflows, data flows, and integrations between TMS and other systems (WMS, ERP, etc.).
- Identify, document, and track defects and issues using bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to resolve defects and clarify requirements.
- Ensure the overall quality of the TMS solution by running comprehensive regression and smoke tests.
- Perform end-to-end testing of critical TMS functionalities such as order management , load planning , routing , carrier management , shipment tracking , and settlement processes .
- Test the integration of TMS with external partners such as carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers .
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices related to transportation and logistics systems.
- Report on testing progress and quality metrics, and provide feedback to improve the testing process.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and assist business users in verifying the solution meets the business requirements.
- Proven experience as a Functional QA Engineer, preferably with a focus on Transportation Management Systems (TMS) .
- Solid understanding of TMS functionalities , including freight management, load planning, shipment tracking, carrier management , and route optimization .
- Experience with manual testing techniques, including black-box testing, functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail , Client ALM , or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of defect tracking tools like JIRA , Bugzilla , or Azure DevOps .
- Ability to understand and validate TMS integrations with WMS, ERP , and external carriers .
- Familiarity with logistics industry standards such as EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) or API-based integrations .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills , with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and stakeholders.
- Experience working with popular TMS platforms such as Oracle TMS, SAP TMS, Blue Yonder (JDA) TMS, Manhattan TMS, or similar solutions.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with SQL to validate data flows and troubleshoot issues related to data consistency in TMS.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
