Role & responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

1. ServiceNow CMDB Implementation & Management:
   
• Design, implement, and maintain the CMDB structure to ensure accurate and comprehensive configuration management across the organization.
• Define and manage CMDB lifecycle processes, including data collection, reconciliation, and integration with other ITSM processes.
• Perform regular audits and health checks of the CMDB to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define configuration item (CI) relationships and dependencies.
2. ServiceNow Discovery:
   
• Design and implement ServiceNow Discovery to automatically identify and map network devices, servers, applications, and other IT assets.
• Configure and customize Discovery probes and sensors based on business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Discovery issues to ensure smooth, ongoing operations.
• Integrate Discovery data with CMDB, ensuring accurate and up-to-date CI data in the system.
3. ServiceNow ITOM (IT Operations Management):
   
• Implement and optimize ITOM solutions, including Event Management, Orchestration, and Cloud Management, to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.
• Work with stakeholders to define and manage ITOM requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Integrate ITOM modules with other ITSM and ITIL processes to improve visibility and management of IT infrastructure.
4. ServiceNow Customization & Configuration:
   
• Configure and customize ServiceNow applications, forms, workflows, and automation based on business requirements.
• Develop scripts (Business Rules, UI Actions, Client Scripts, etc.) to extend functionality within ServiceNow.
• Provide subject matter expertise in ServiceNow best practices, and ensure the platform is properly configured to meet business needs.
5. Collaboration & Documentation:
   
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as ITSM, Security, Network, and Infrastructure) to ensure alignment of CMDB, Discovery, and ITOM processes.
• Document implementation procedures, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams as required.
6. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
   
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CMDB, Discovery, and ITOM tools.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the data and provide resolutions to prevent future incidents.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience working with ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and ITOM modules (at least [X] years).
• Strong knowledge of ITIL best practices and how they relate to ServiceNow and ITOM processes.
• Experience in configuring ServiceNow Discovery probes and sensors for various IT assets and services.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform, including customization of forms, workflows, UI policies, business rules, and scripts.
• Hands-on experience in the implementation and administration of ITOM solutions, including Event Management and Orchestration.
• Familiarity with ServiceNows IntegrationHub and third-party integrations.
• Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining ServiceNow instances, including Discovery, CMDB, and ITOM health.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical and non-technical teams.
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in Discovery and/or ITOM is a plus.
• Experience with ServiceNow REST API and web services integration is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration with ServiceNow.
• Experience in ServiceNow Performance Analytics and reporting.
• ServiceNow Administration or Development certification.
• Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks like Ansible, Jenkins, etc.
