Senior Application Developer - Mainframe

Role Description:

Develops complex applications and systems to provide the required functionality for all IT services, including configuration and adjustment of standard software. Provides application maintenance and support services to users or to service delivery functions and contributes to the operations of a dedicated application or application class.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Designs, codes, tests (incl. test cases, and scripts for module/component tests), corrects, documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and subsequent iterations
• Installs, configures, customizes and integrates standard software
• Implements and executes module/component tests and provides technical documentation
• Executes the technical application support
• Supports the deployment and training of the application into production environment
• Monitors service delivery performance metrics and identifies required service agreement adjustments
• All information security requirements related to the role are applicable, and It is mandatory to adhere to them

Key Competencies & Skills required:

• +6 years experience in DB2 (SQL Scripting) on IBM Mainframe
• +6 years experience JCL (Job Control Language)
• +6 years experience in Cobol
• Good Experience in Database Design
• Good Experience in Data Modelling
• Very Good experience in TSO/ISPF
• Very Strong bug fixing and debugging know-how in Mainframe
• Good experience with PROCMAN
• Good experience in DF-Sort
• Good experience in TWS (As User)

Nice to have:

• Jira and Confluence experience
• Project management tool Clarity

Previous Experience & Qualifications

Minimum Educational Qualification:

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience

Years Experience & Knowledge:

• +6 years experience working with Mainframe
• IT technical background & client server programming experience
• Financial Services background appreciate
