SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION OF WORK
3.1 Scaffolding inspector is requested to inspect all scaffolds erected within the boundaries of Company to ensure they are suitable for safe use by others, and comply with the OSHA and relevant industrial standards.
3.2 Inspect and assess the condition of the scaffolding material provided by scaffold contractors and ensure their compliance with the correct standards applied by Company.
3.3 Maintain a record of the condition of all scaffolds erected in the Refinery and conduct periodical inspection to ensure that they are maintained correctly.
3.4 Provide advice on the suitability of specialized scaffolds supplied by contracting companies to meet the safety requirements of Company, with regard to design and access in case of plant upset conditions.
3.5 Provides technical advice on scaffolding works and participate in risk assessment for work requiring higher level risk.
3.6 Ensures that all works are executed to high standards and meet all required safety standards.
3.7 Ensures that materials for scaffolds are marked and kept in good condition and dispose of, the damaged or defective materials.
3.8 Review the special scaffolds plan and drawing and approve it.
3.9 During the term of this Contract, CONTRACTOR shall ensure the highest quality of workmanship and safe working conditions, in accordance with all relevant regulations.
CERTIFIED SCAFFOLDING INSPECTORS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
CONTRACTOR shall provide qualified and experienced manpower
(a) The Inspectors shall have at least Seven to Ten (7-10) years experience in the application used in the petrochemical industry. The experience and qualifications must be verified by International certificates and approved affidavits.
(b) The Scaffold Inspectors shall have the ability to read the scaffold plan and drawings to ensure compliance with safety requirements
(C) Scaffolds Inspectors shall have the knowledge and experience in the following:
- Scaffold risk assessments
- Fall Protection standards and fall protection equipment inspection.
(d) The Inspectors shall have the ability to communicate in English in a competent manner such that the written and verbal instructions, issued from time to time by the COMPANY supervision, are fully understood.
3.11 Contractor Scaffold Inspectors must be in sound normal health and capable of active work on a Petroleum Refinery.
3.12 Contractor Scaffold Inspectors personnel must be able to learn and abide by established safety procedures in the performance of assigned duties.
