Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for scrap procurement aligned with company objectives and market trends. Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and reliability.
Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with scrap suppliers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favorable agreements while ensuring quality standards are met. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
Sourcing & Acquisition:
- Identify opportunities to source scrap materials efficiently and cost-effectively. Coordinate with internal teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels. Explore new sources and innovative approaches to expand the supplier base.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and streamline scrap procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times. Implement best practices, automation tools, and performance metrics to monitor and improve process effectiveness.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, finance, and sustainability, to align procurement activities with overall business objectives. Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback.
Risk Mitigation & Opportunity Utilization:
- Proactively address business challenges, mitigating risks and capitalizing on opportunities.
Market Research:
- Conduct thorough market research, analyze competition, and market scope to expand market share.
Vendor Relationships:
- Cultivate new vendor relationships, particularly with OEMs, to procure scrap batteries, plastic, aluminum, and other materials.
Demand Alignment:
- Ensure full sourcing of parts aligned with production schedules and customer demands.
Reporting: Prepare monthly MIS reports.
Qualifications: B.Tech / B.E. / MBA / Diploma
Experience: At least 10-15 years of experience in procurement and B2B sales.
Additional Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Excel.
