A Hardware Engineering Program Manager (HEPM) is a key role that bridges the gap between engineering teams, product development, and business objectives in hardware-focused projects. This position involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of hardware product development—from concept through design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery—while ensuring that projects meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Leadership and Strategy:

   • Define program scope, objectives, and goals aligned with organizational priorities.
   • Develop and maintain detailed program roadmaps, timelines, and milestone schedules.
   • Identify and manage program risks, mitigation strategies, and contingency plans.
   • Ensure alignment of hardware engineering efforts with business needs and customer requirements.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

   • Work closely with hardware engineers, product managers, designers, manufacturing teams, quality assurance (QA), and supply chain to ensure smooth execution of the program.
   • Facilitate communication between various stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned with program goals, timelines, and resources.

3. Project Management:

   • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of hardware design, development, and manufacturing tasks.
   • Monitor progress and performance through regular status meetings, dashboards, and project reporting.
   • Ensure that project timelines and budgets are adhered to, identifying potential delays or issues and taking corrective action as needed.

4. Risk and Issue Management:

   • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks in hardware design, supply chain, manufacturing, or testing.
   • Resolve conflicts or issues between teams, departments, or external vendors and suppliers.
   • Ensure a smooth resolution of any engineering challenges that may impact timelines or product quality.

5. Budget and Resource Management:

   • Oversee the allocation of resources (personnel, hardware, tools) to meet project needs.
   • Track and manage the program’s budget, ensuring that costs are controlled and savings opportunities are identified.

6. Quality and Compliance:

• Ensure all hardware products meet regulatory standards, certifications, and quality benchmarks.
• Monitor the testing process to confirm products are performing as expected.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure that products meet performance, reliability, and safety standards
