As our new Engineer - Mechanical – Building Services you will be part of a world-class, innovation-driven engineering design center owned by an independent trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our India head office in Gurgaon. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a center for design excellence offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization

You will become part of our REC UK buildings team, collaborating with a close-knit team of building services engineers both in the UK and India, specialising in the design of electrical building services installations.

In your role, you will work across multiple sectors – from world class commercial developments and cutting-edge healthcare projects to landmark tall buildings, you will contribute to projects which make a difference. Based out of one of the regional offices, travel will be expected on occasion to fulfil the needs of the projects you will be working on.  You will be collaborating with a multi-disciplinary UK Buildings Team including other disciplines including mechanical engineers, building physicists, structural engineers, façade and acoustic engineers. Your project teams may be as large as 30 people or as intimate as 2 or 3, but all will focus on efficient, effective project delivery. 

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Design of HVAC, Water Supply, drainage & firefighting ventilation other mechanical building systems.
• Heat load calculation with HAP, Hevacomp or IES, ventilation calculation, water supply sizing & drainage calculation.
• Pressure drop calculations for duct & pipe systems.
• Capacity sizing & equipment selection.
• Multi-disciplinary coordination & self-checking.
• Certify the layout / model in Revit/ CAD.

About you

• Manage major aspects of the mechanical design of projects.
• Be responsible to both the Project Manager and the Senior Engineer/Technical Manager/Principal Engineer for the organization, production, and quality of work.
• Act as Mechanical Lead/Sub-lead, depending on the scope of the project. 
• Coordinate design efforts with all other groups and maintain project records. 
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
• Prepare and participate in design reviews.
• Ability to develop complex designs, drawings and calculations with minimal guidance from other senior staff.
• Sound knowledge of Design Basis Reports, be competent designing Mechanical Ventilations and Air Conditioning Systems  (CAV and VAV) solutions for buildings.
• Should have knowledge of industry standard calculation software including IES ,  Hevacomp, Trane/Trace 700, HAP.
• Should have knowledge of 3D design software such as Revit and MagiCad. And preferable also software like Navisworks and Solibri.
• Should have experience in working on UK projects and be familiar with regional standard and regulations; and be interested in working with the UK.
• Design experience in various sectors including Commercial Office, Residential, Sports facilities, Healthcare Facilities, Hotels etc.
