Role Overview:
- As the Director of UI/UX Design, you will be responsible for defining and executing the overall design vision and strategy for our digital products.
- You'll lead a team of talented designers, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create seamless and engaging user experiences across multiple platforms.
- This is a leadership role, where you will inspire and guide your team while ensuring that design processes align with business objectives and user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of UI/UX designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Develop and implement team processes, provide constructive feedback, and support individual growth.
- Design Strategy: Define and communicate the UI/UX design vision, ensuring alignment with product goals and user needs. Develop comprehensive design strategies that balance aesthetics, usability, and functionality to create exceptional user experiences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to ensure design solutions meet business requirements, user needs, and technical constraints. Promote a user-centered design approach across the organization.
- User Research & Testing: Oversee the creation and execution of user research, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions. Analyze user feedback and behavior to continuously improve the design of our products.
- Design Systems: Develop and maintain a scalable design system that ensures consistency across all platforms, products, and features. Advocate for best practices in design and UI consistency.
- Project Management: Manage design deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Balance multiple priorities and adapt to changes as needed.
- Innovation & Trends: Stay current on design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. Bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions to the design team and the organization as a whole.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present design concepts, prototypes, and final deliverables to key stakeholders. Effectively communicate design rationale and decision-making processes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role. Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects from concept to delivery.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects, demonstrating expertise in user-centered design principles, interface design, and problem-solving.
- Design Skills: Deep knowledge of design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite) and prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Axure, etc.). Expertise in wireframing, interaction design, and visual design.
- User-Centered Focus: Demonstrated ability to conduct and analyze user research, develop personas, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes. Experience with usability testing and data-driven design decisions.
- Leadership: Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Proven ability to inspire and manage a team of designers, foster creativity, and drive continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams. Ability to partner with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
