Adhere to the Firms policies and procedures, core values, demonstrate their importance to others, and provide input to management on suggested modifications to Firm policies and procedures, as necessary.
Work closely with all team members to identify and resolve issues encountered in all assigned projects through effective and timely communication.
Manage the Elevation team in India and report into the respective reporting manager in US and ensure that the India team members understand the project tasks, deadlines, and expectations.
Collaborate with the engagement team in US to ensure that both the India and US teams are working effectively together.
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for entities, including Partnerships (Form 1065), S-Corporations (Form 1120S), C- Corporation (Form 1120 C) and Tax-Exempt Organizations (Form 990).
Review of workpapers for Taxable Income Calculations for federal and state return and Review of workpaper related to extensions and estimates.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and related documentation, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Manage tax provisions and work with the financial reporting team to ensure accurate tax reporting in financial statements (ASC 740)
Tax Planning & Strategy:
Support the development of tax-efficient strategies for entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, intercompany transactions, and other business activities.
Advise management on tax implications of business decisions, acquisitions, and changes in business structure.
Conduct tax research to identify tax-saving opportunities, including state and local tax incentives, credits, and deductions.
Proficient on CCH Axcess / UltraTax/CCH Engagement binder income tax and other Tax Compliance tools.
Tax Audits & Disputes:
Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities in the event of audits or inquiries related to entity-level taxes.
Assist in the preparation of responses to tax audits and manage any disputes or examinations related to the tax positions taken by the company.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with legal, finance, and business development teams to ensure integrated tax planning and compliance efforts.
Assist with tax return preparation, processing, and other accounting/consulting projects.
Partner with other departments to ensure the proper tax treatment of transactions and business activities, ensuring minimal tax risk.
Team Management & Development:
Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to junior tax staff in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Assist with the development and training of the tax team to enhance technical skills and overall departmental efficiency.
Consistently perform and take ownership of all assigned projects under the supervision of more experienced team members.
Process Improvement & Automation:
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the tax department to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and streamline compliance activities.
Stay updated on tax law changes and propose solutions for adapting to regulatory changes.
