Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Role & responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, including manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and quality control.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure operational excellence and adherence to industry best practices.

2. Strategic Planning cascaded to Operations

• Collaborate with the MD and executive team to define and execute the companys strategic plan.
• Identify and implement growth opportunities, including new markets, product lines, and partnerships.
• Drive initiatives to achieve the companys long-term objectives.

3. Performance Management:

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness.
• Implement continuous improvement programs to enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization.
• Lead regular reviews of operational performance and make data-driven decisions.

4. Team Leadership:

• Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.

5. Financial Management:

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for operational departments.
• Manage operational costs and drive initiatives to improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.

6. Customer Focus:

• Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service delivery.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and align operations accordingly.
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of products and services.

7. Risk Management:

• Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring business continuity and resilience.
• Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior operational role, preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.
• Proven track record of operational excellence, strategic planning, and team leadership.
• Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
