Procurement Engineer

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

• Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule.
• Monitoring Minimum Order Qty., Lead Time, Clubbed Order Qty to balance Supply and demand Plans.
• Uses PFEP (Plan for every part) to ensure delivery of right part at the right time& place in right qty.
• Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials.
• Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development.
• Manage the inter-company flow or materials between warehouse locations Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
• Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling.
• Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks)
• Active participation in stock (Inventory) taking against the stock at the month end.
• Ensures timely issue of RFQs to correct vendors.
• Ensures timely receipt of vendor offers for each requisition before or by due date.
• Ensures technical offers are distributed to reviewers in a timely manner.
• Ensures commercial information is kept confidential and not released to persons outside of the Group and only to relevant people.
• Produces accurate Commercial Bid Evaluation (CBE).
• Creates Purchase Order (PO) with all supporting documentation, as per requirements.
• Liaises with vendors on a planned basis for the purpose of keeping abreast of their capabilities, new products, and interfacing with their management personnel.
• Develops and maintain a commercially sound vendor base, continual survey of the market for new supply sources including non-traditional suppliers and assist in maintaining Asso Group Approved Vendor List. Evaluates and monitors vendor performance on a continual basis.
• Helps develop project Approved Vendors” lists. Pre-qualify vendors, if required, to obtain internal and client approval to use new vendors.
