Lead Software Engineer - LabVIEW

Summary :

The Technical Lead will use their core LabVIEW experience to lead and mentor the team to design and implement solutions for multiple applications in the Semiconductor, Medical, Automotive, High-Tech Capital Equipment and Manufacturing industries.

Position Overview :

We are looking for a Technical Lead in LabVIEW, who has LabVIEW programming experience of over 5 years that can steer their team towards developing well-architected solutions. The Technical Lead will design and implement software for multiple applications in the Semiconductor, Medical, Automotive, High-Tech Capital Equipment and Manufacturing industries. This is a role where you can expect to work with Fortune 500 companies in these industries and gain vast experience in Test and Measurement Automation using your core know-how in LabVIEW.

As the Technical Lead, you will lead the team to reach its creative and technical best in innovating in the space of test and measurement, automated workflows, verification and validation, reliability testing and more.

Technical Stewardship

• Aim for simple, scalable designs that are easy to maintain and use. You will provide technical direction and make decisions on architecture, tech risk analysis, etc. You will ensure design meets requirements without over architecting and making things complex.
• You will take the lead on building solutions and functional specification documents.
• You will be a fast thinker who can refine architecture from time to time. You will keep an eye on new functional specifications and be proactive about quality, performance and architecture, communicating to relevant decision makers (e.g. Project Owner / Project Manager / Customer) as and when required.

Lead the Team to Excellence and Innovation

• You will lead and help the team generate and propose innovative ideas with impact analyses to customers.
• You will establish coding and design guidelines for the team, recommending relevant code libraries and platforms for the team to consider.
• Your team will follow your lead on the best coding practices. You will review the teams code periodically and provide suggestions and comments. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the team creates readable, modular and scalable code.
• You will work with the Agile team to create a cohesive, common purpose and bring your team together to analyze performance metrics, retrospections and action plans.
• You will implement detailed Design with required prototypes to explore new concepts.

Be A Great Communicator and Leader

• You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, turn those needs into technical requirements, and lead the design and development process to deliver high-quality results efficiently. Your goal is to provide a delightful experience for customers. Speak their language, make communication easy, and help them achieve their goal and build strong relationships and trust
• You will take the lead in Demos to clients and ensure high quality deliverables with required documentation.
• You will be a technical mentor, helping your engineers be the best version of themselves.
• You will be the key lead in reporting on the status and development of Projects to senior team members. You will participate in project meetings with management and other team members.

Qualifications :

• Proven LabVIEW Programming Experience of 5 - 8 years with Engineering Graduation.
• You should have experience in Project Management / Team handling.
• You are expected to have an in-depth understanding of LabVIEW State Machines, Design Patterns and LVOOPS.
• You have experience in Configuration Management and source version control systems such as SVN, Perforce and Git.

Good to Have :

• Experience in TestStand/Python/ NI Certifications LabVIEW is a plus.
• Knowledge of Test and Measurements, NI PXI based Instrumentation.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW at the CLD/CLA level is preferred.
