Test and Automation Manager :
Echo Managed Services have led the development of utility billing software for over 17 years. With over one third of the UKs water companies using our platform to generate bills and manage their customers, we have built a wealth of in-house knowledge and expertise. Our focus is now on the future as we proudly rollout Aptumo, our multi-utility SaaS billing solution built in Salesforce, that extends our expertise beyond water and outside of the UK, including Australia and the USA.
As a successful candidate, youll be joining our Test and QA team reporting to the Head of Product and Engineering, responsible for overseeing and managing both the manual and automated testing activities related to Salesforce implementation and customisation projects. This role involves developing test strategies, coordinating test plans, and ensuring the quality of Salesforce solutions. The Salesforce Test Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive effective testing practices and ensure successful project delivery.
Working in conjunction with our Product, Engineering and Professional Services experts within our teams based across the UK, Australia, USA and India, youll be given the opportunity to learn everything we know about multi-utility billing, software delivery and more. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a passion for technology and the ability to work in a fast paced environment, usually working on multiple projects at the same time.

Skills, Capabilities and Experience :
- At least 10-15 years of solid testing experience and at least 5+ years of experience in a Test Manager role or equivalent
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team of test professionals in Salesforce testing projects
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform, including configuration, customization, and integration
aspects
- Experience in developing and implementing test strategies and plans for Salesforce projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential issues proactively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience in Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, specific to Salesforce projects
- Familiarity with Salesforce testing automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Provar, or other Salesforce test automation frameworks
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines
- Experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies
- Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
- Experience in the use of Application Release Automation tools
- Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban
- Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
- General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, Visio and Project (or equivalents)

Responsibilities :
You will spend the majority of your time focused on test planning, tracking and deployment, team leadership and cross-functional group communication and risk management, as below :
- Develop and implement test strategies and plans for Salesforce implementation and customization projects.
- Lead and manage a team of test professionals, providing guidance and support in their daily activities.
- Coordinate and prioritize testing efforts across multiple Salesforce projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Salesforce developers, business analysts, and project managers, to define testing requirements and resolve issues.
- Define and implement testing methodologies, tools, and best practices specific to Salesforce testing.
- Monitor and report on test progress, including test coverage, defects, and overall quality metrics for
Salesforce solutions.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with Salesforce testing activities, ensuring potential issues are addressed proactively.
- Stay up-to-date with Salesforce platform updates, industry trends, and advancements in Salesforce testing methodologies and tools, and recommend improvements to the testing process.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the Salesforce testing skills and knowledge of team members.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the Salesforce testing team and across the organisation.
- Track the progress and find issues, if any, working to improve the process of releasing thereby making it more accurate and predictable
- Schedule the test readiness reviews prior to deployment and milestone reviews after each test
- Create, share and oversee plans for the upcoming series of deployments as per the test schedule
- Plan and give weekly updates on the test activities
- Liaise with team leads etc. to ensure the correct and adequate allocation of resources to every release
- Communicate with release managers from different departments, vendors or other third parties
- Lead the transition to service and post go-live activities to deploy the release successfully, including input into and management of release notes etc.
- Liaise with and provide input to the relevant development teams responsible for the building of automation tools used to develop, test and deploy the software
- Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, plus related and various notifications methods and dependencies
- Production of management information to allow both internal and client reporting on project progress, issues and risks
- Analyse the quality of software delivered to the client through measured the effectiveness of each lifecycle element. This will include tracking of KPIs and root cause analysis feeding a series of process improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Degree level qualified or relevant equivalent qualification or experience
- Strong English communications both written and verbal skills to communicate at all levels, including technical/non-technical, internal and external stakeholders and partners of the business
- Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder certification is ideal
- Additional Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Certified Platform Developer or Salesforce
Certified Advanced Administration :
- ISTQB or similar certification is a plus
- Familiarity or exposure to ITIL.
