Wiring Harness Engineer/Sr. Wiring Harness Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop low-voltage and high-voltage wiring harnesses for electric vehicle platforms.
• Create 2D schematics, 3D routing, and wiring harness drawings using CAD tools such as Catia, Creo, NX, or equivalent.
• Select appropriate wires, connectors, terminals, and protective components to meet design specifications and regulatory standards.
• Perform electrical load analysis, circuit protection design, and voltage drop calculations.
• Plan and oversee validation testing of wiring harness systems, including environmental, thermal, and vibration testing.
• Troubleshoot issues related to harness routing, grounding, and electrical noise.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation such as BOMs, schematics, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 16750, ISO 6469, IPC/WHMA-A-620, SAE J1939, or relevant EV-specific standards).
• Proficiency in wiring harness design tools such as Catia Electrical, Capital Harness, Creo Schematics, Zuken E3, or similar software
• Generate and maintain technical documentation such as BOMs, schematics, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 16750, ISO 6469, IPC/WHMA-A-620, SAE J1939, or relevant EV-specific standards)
• Experience with harness routing and packaging in 3D environments.
• Familiarity with wiring harness testing methods and quality standards.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
• Understanding of thermal and environmental constraints in EVs
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
