CNC Turning Operator

Roles and Responsibilities

Purpose & Scope:

The job purpose is to operate CNC Vertical turning center with FANUC Controls to produce machined components as per the drawings while meeting the quality standards. The operator is responsible for the Production / Output of the machine and provides the desired output with repeatability and increased productivity with on-time delivery to the customer as a primary focus.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean work area by adhering to safety protocols and organizing materials.
• Monitor machine performance, adjust settings as needed, and troubleshoot issues that arise during production runs.
• Ensure accurate cutting tools are used according to drawing requirements.
• Read engineering drawings, understand product specifications, and select appropriate tools for production.
• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth production flow and meet production targets.
• Adhere to all safety and quality standards to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Continuously improve skills and knowledge by staying updated on industry developments and attending training programs.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5-10 years of experience operating CNC turning machines or similar equipment.
• ITI certification or diploma in any specialization (preferably mechanical).
• Strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code or PostScript.
• Proficiency with Fanuc control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and diagrams and do basic inspection.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
