Overview:

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate educational activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. The teacher will create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and Implement Age-Appropriate Curriculum

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans that incorporate activities in areas like language development, basic math, sensory play, art, and physical activities.
• Create a balance of structured learning and free play, allowing children to explore at their own pace.

2. Foster a Safe and Nurturing Environment

• Ensure the classroom is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where all children feel valued.
• Use positive reinforcement to build children's self-esteem and encourage good behavior.

3. Support Individualized Learning

• Recognize and adapt to the unique needs and learning styles of each child, offering tailored support where necessary.
• Provide extra assistance to children who may need help developing social, emotional, or academic skills.

4. Encourage Social and Emotional Development

• Help children develop social skills by encouraging sharing, turn-taking, and respectful communication.
• Teach conflict resolution techniques, helping children learn how to express emotions appropriately and manage disagreements.

5. Observe and Assess Child Progress

• Regularly observe children’s development and progress in various areas (language, motor skills, social interaction, etc.).
• Keep detailed records and assessments to track milestones and provide feedback to parents or guardians.

6. Communicate with Parents/Guardians

• Establish and maintain positive communication with parents about their child's progress, challenges, and achievements.
• Hold regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss development and any concerns.

7. Promote Physical Development

• Organize activities that promote gross and fine motor skills development, such as outdoor play, art projects, and hands-on activities.
• Help children learn to develop self-help skills, like dressing themselves, eating independently, and following routines.

8. Classroom Management

• Manage classroom routines, ensuring smooth transitions between activities.
• Create a structured environment with clear expectations and consistent boundaries.
• Use positive discipline strategies to promote good behavior and prevent disruptions.

9. Collaborate with Other Staff

• Work closely with other teachers, aides, and staff to support the needs of all students and ensure a smooth running of the classroom.
• Share insights and observations about individual children's development with other educators.

10. Professional Development

• Stay informed about new teaching strategies, educational tools, and child development trends through ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications

1. A degree in Early childhood Education is a must.

2. Experience of working with children or similar setup.

3. Certification in CPR / First aid.
