Job Description

Key technology requirements:

Role Purpose

Develop and maintain the automated test practices for both web and windows applications primarily using Telerik Test Studio.
Identify the areas of improvement in automated scripts and communicate this to stakeholders.
Implement automation best practices.
Ability to describe automation strategies for testing of both new developments and the maintenance of existing systems.
Experience of working with Onsite and Offshore teams.

Key Accountabilities

Implement and develop automated test practices for both web and windows applications primarily using Telerik Test Studio.
Design and create test scripts using C# and/or VB to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability in preparation for implementation.
Work with the QA Manager and colleagues to contribute in defining process and strategy associated with automation.
Ability to create scripts beyond record and playback using C# and/or VB
Developing functions, adding control flow logic, loops etc.
Experience working with GUI object recognition and customization.
Working experience for both manual as well as automation testing.
Solid understanding of automation frame works and debugging skills.
Proven ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business focused environment.
Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope/delivery dates.
Participate in test design reviews to provide input on Test coverage, automation feasibility of tests, schedules, or potential problems.
Ability to evaluate test tools and provide justification for implementation
All Design and develop formal test cases based on agreed test strategies and relevant specifications in line with defined acceptance criteria.
Contribute to maintenance of requirements traceability matrix to ensure that information is kept up to date
Define and implement appropriate test environments in accordance with the test strategy.
Work with QA Manager and team to assess Quality status in accordance with the test strategy
Provide regular status updates for Quality of Deliverables.
Ability to estimate all aspects of testing.
Feedback and communicate with the product or project team regarding problems, defects, risks, questions and suggestions that arise during the development and delivery lifecycle.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications required to perform the role

Essential:

Professional Qualifications (Engineering or Computer Science Graduate):

BE/B Tech/MCA/any Post Graduation

Proven experience developing automated test systems using any automation tool
(Preferably Telerik Test Studio) for both web and windows applications. Have at least

6-8 years of experience on Automation tool.

Solid understanding of automation frame works and debugging skills.
Good understanding of software design techniques.
Experience of source control system TFS and configuration management.
Working knowledge of XML and SQL queries.
Experience in Agile development methodologies preferable.
Ability to follow and adhere to quality processes.
Ability to implement testing tools effectively.
Ability to describe strategies for testing of both new developments and the maintenance of existing systems.
Ability to plan testing needed at any level from component to user acceptance and document.
Ability to specify and design(automate) test scripts.
Ability to identify bugs and categorize them.
Ability to analyze and recognize risks and use results to prioritize testing and share them across the team.
Ability to interact effectively with others such as users, developers and managers.
Ability to carry out test reviews
Communication reporting skills
Demonstrate mentoring and leadership skills.

Desirable

Knowledge of Insurance and Reinsurance domain will be an added advantage.
Product development experience would be beneficial.
Experience of working with Onsite and Offshore teams.
Experience of working with industry standards such as ISO9001, CMMI, PRINCE2
Experience of installation configuration of test environments, Testing/Automation Certification will be an added advantage.
