Role Description
The BIRO (Business Information and Records Officer) role is the global Business Champion in embedding Records Management Principles within the Corporate Bank. This role is placed in the Data Records Management Centre of Expertise (CoE) to support the Corporate Bank and is accountable for managing the Records Management risk profile against the set risk appetite. Records Management is a key enabler to ensure regulatory compliance, cost efficiency and avoidance, and drive growth through information insights. The BIRO role is accountable for oversight and proper implementation of the Records Management Framework within CB across the entire information lifecycle, spanning records creation, retention, retrieval, and deletion. The BIRO is responsible for translating the policy requirements into practical and implementable procedures for the business across more than 400 applications and 51 countries. The BIRO also ensures that the CB business areas globally are compliant with requirements for key business records such as those pertaining to Client, Trade, Risk management and Personal Data. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) introduced a new legal framework for the protection of personal data in the EU and non-compliance carries fines of up to 4% of worldwide turnover. There are multiple other Data Protection regulations across other locations as well that need to be complied with.

Your key responsibilities
The BIRO is accountable for proper implementation of the Records Management policy within the division and as such:
Has a working knowledge of the data and records management Policy and Records management procedures in order to define the records management framework for the division.
Supports the application of controls to ensure adherence and champions their implementation.
Monitors control effectiveness and supports continual improvement of risk profile associated with Records Management
Supports engagement with the records management governance for a and working groups where they are convened.
Manages data and records mapping sets and actively works with Domain Architects and Business Data Leads to ensure that records associated with applications and their archiving remain accurate.
Supports the Data privacy lead when required to ensure that CB records, data remain compliant with local data privacy laws and regulations.
Maintenance of the divisional standard operating documents and KoDs
Actively manages the divisional records across all the various Record Lifecycle Stages
Maintains the divisional record inventory in Collibra.
Your skills and experience
Professional
Strong working Knowledge of data archiving and content management systems (dbECM/CMIO) and SharePoint online
Expert written and verbal communication skills in English.
Excellent quantitative analytical skills
Strong understanding of data types associated with DB applications.
Knowledge related to risk management and banking products, processes and systems preferred.
Very strong in use of Excel, Power point, MS Word, Access, Visio, Sharepoint.
Affinity to and experience with data protection matters.
Experience with project management.
